I just wanted to express my deepest thanks. I am the person who only ever did telephone and personal phone sales calls and I had literally not ever sent out emails in my previous job.

Well...my first day of the job the General Manager told me they wanted "immediate results". That threw me into a bit of a panic. Anyway, I thought well and hard about what you said. I was fortunate in that a major oil show was coming to town in June so what I did was email every exhibitor coming to the show. That was about 900 emails. I took a few days and composed a really inviting letter introducing our property and of course a link to our website. Once I started the emails the phone started ringing off the hook the next day and within a week we were totally booked for that period. Those same oil and gas companies also booked for times other than the show. For each of the companies that booked with us I sent a thank you letter and some brochures.

Just last week I found out that our June sales from 2003 to 2004 tripled and so did the "Visitors" and "Hits" to our website. It is still hard to determine how many of those visiting our website were due to my email correspondence but there has to be some correlation. I'd like to think so anyway. I still haven't seen the Internet reservations comparison from June 2003 to 2004 and I hope those have increased as well. I think the management here is acknowledging that I had something to do with it. I say, "I think" because I've only heard through colleagues that they appreciate what I've done.

So...again...thank you so much. I don't think I would have done that without your advice. I would still be on the phone and would have run up an enormous long distance phone bill. I do admit that I have started making the phone calls just for that personal touch and for a break from the emails. That has been working out well too, but for sure, it is not as efficient.
