PKF lowered its forecast for REVPAR increases nationwide for 4.2% to 3.0% for 2008 in the past month.  Many markets are beginning to show softness in the reservations pace for the second and third quarters of the year in both leisure and corporate segments.  Meetings that were booked for the first part of this year are not picking up the attendance anticipated when the meeting was booked.  Only 37% of meeting planners anticipate that their meeting plans for 2008 will be unaffected by the economy!
